NEED TO SAVE FARMERS...

Some of you might be wondering, “ why the farmers must be saved?” especially in Tamil Nadu. To understand that, one must know the monsoon season in India. India has two monsoon seasons, South West and North East monsoon. In SW monsoon, part of Karnataka, South Andra, part of kerala and whole of tamil nadu does not receive precipitation. Then this SW monsoon reaches Delhi and turns back as the North East monsoon. This is the residual moisture of SW monsoon. Only TN  and part of kerala receives NE monsoon. This is why TN suffers from water crisis.
Let me tell you some facts...

Sugarcane is a crop harvested for 10-11 months. It requires 20000 litres/acre/day. the average rainfall received in Coimbatore is 57% deficite this year.

When the sugarcane is harvested the 1st harvest is called the kattakarumbu (50000 investment/acre) and again this is grown called the kannikarumbu (25000 investment/acre). If the harvest is good the yield would be 50 ton/acre and if there is drought it is 30 ton/acre. They are given 2500/ton. So, if there is good yield they would gain 75000/acre for 11 months of hardwork. But if there is not enough water they would get 25000/acre. If there is no enough rainfall farmers would go for bore which would cost 75000-10000 rupees which is a pretty big number for an average farmer...

These calculations would be a brain storming one for some of us. Do not think that farmers are illiterates or not knowledgeable. Many of us does not know the direction we are facing in a new place without an android mobile (funny situation...)

There are many civil engineers, hydrologist and water management people working as government official... Couldn’t the government look into the need of the farmers??? Sure rainfall cannot be the output of a JAVA script but can be managed with wisdom and intelligence...

GOD, COULDN’T YOU EVEN SAVE THE CHILDREN OF YOUR SOIL???

and i have a question for all  those who read this post... when was a dam last constructed in Tamil Nadu??? Find the answer for this question, you will definitely understand the need to save the farmers in Tamil Nadu.
